NATURAL OR NOT
BENEFIT OR DRAWBACK
WHAT INCITES ONE TO PAUSE AT A
CROSSROAD SUCH AS THIS?
Below are a few samples of situations that, in actuality, came to a screeching halt. The students listed below N E V E R
P O U T E D when corrected and yielded to smart work rather than hard work. Creating something from little or nothing always mesmerized me. Even a coach should have fun sometimes, right?
- "With previous teachers, I was taught to perfect my error rather than to perfect my natural voice. Ode's technique has changed all that." - Rueben H. Redal, Tacoma, Washington
- "Ode Wannebo's systematic approach to voice training is a total body experience. Having a natural but untrained voice, Ode quickly exposed the risk I was taking to damaging my vocal chords. Working in the field of science, I immediately grasped an appreciation for Ode's logic and simplicity. It made perfect sense to me, that it also works."
- Bill Hansen, Glendale, California
- "Being a natural was the greatest detriment to achieving my goals and dreams. I came to Ode with a lot of baggage and bad habits, which he exchanged with knowledge and proper technique. I previously could hardly find time to practice...now I do. I have observed many new students coming to Ode with no talent at all and within a few months they experience a 180-degree turnaround. Knowledge is power." - Patty Zap, San Francisco, California
- "Instant gratification was not even an option for me, although through the years, I never felt the need to practice. My father, a professional musician, instilled in me from childhood that 'anything worthwhile (even a natural gift) is going to take time.' Realizing that, I doubled up my weekly lessons with Ode. His systematic setup really works."
- Jordana (Jackie Zwirn), Los Angeles, California
It has indeed become natural for us in VOCALCONNECTION to find and create solutions for anyone coming our way, with a genuine desire to learn, natural or not.
